IRMS Conference 2018 - Brighton

20 - 22 May 2018

Preservica is pleased to announce that we will be speaking at Information and Records Management Society Conference – Back To The Future 2018 in Brighton.

This major industry gathering provides an annual opportunity to get an independent view on the key challenges surrounding this critical resource, including inspirational speakers, lively discussions and unbeatable networking opportunities – centred around the latest thinking, industry innovations and best practice from world-class organisations.

If you're heading to Brighton make sure you attend our session presented by Gareth Aitken who will talk about how the GDPR and best-practice information governance share many of the same principles and an effective digital preservation solution can help you deliver success on all counts.

Mind the Gap: Responsibility to Remember in the GDPR Era

Monday 21st May 12.00 - 12.30pm
A significant number of organisations remain unprepared for the GDPR, and although some view it positively, many have concerns ranging from the complexity of implementation, to how compliance will make it harder for individuals and organisations to operate.  Organisations implementing a digital preservation solution have a ‘responsibility to remember’ , to protect their valuable information for the long-term.  They may also need to comply with apparently conflicting GDPR obligations which include the ‘right to be forgotten’, as well as operating within an effective records management framework.  Fortunately, these requirements are not mutually exclusive.
