Preserving our Digital Content: Celebrating Communities

Happy World Digital Preservation Day – the Digital Preservation Coalition’s annual celebration of all things Digital Preservation! It’s a special day for the team at Preservica to recognize the importance of safeguarding our digital history and to reflect on the dynamic work taking place in the Digital Preservation community.

Preservica is celebrating this year’s WDPD theme, “Preserving our Digital Content: Celebrating Communities,” with a new blog written by Preservica's Chief Innovation Officer, Jon Tilbury, which takes a dive into the past, present and future importance of Digital Preservation within our communities.

Don’t miss out on the recap and collage from our What Do You Preserve campaign, plus we have shared a few ways to get involved in the celebration of WDPD - find out more below!

Connecting with the Digital Preservation Community

We've travelled far and wide this year, from Scotland to Australia, Houston to Washington, and we were even lucky enough to spend time in the beautiful city of Ghent for iPres 2024!

We have loved catching up with old faces (and meeting new ones!) discussing all things Digital Preservation. Our diary is already filling up for 2025 - we'd love to see you at one of our events, user days or webinars. Keep an eye on our Events page to see where you can find the Preservica team next.

Preservica User Groups

Our User Groups this year were a huge success, and provided the perfect environment for networking and collaboration with like-minded individuals.

If you were unable to attend, some of the sessions recordings are available to view on demand here.

What Do You Preserve Recap

In celebration of Archives Month we invited the community to showcase the great work being done to preserve amazing digital assets and collections. As a part of this celebration, we asked the community to show off some of its prized collections being future-proofed through Digital Preservation efforts using #WhatDoYouPreserve.
