'Decommissioning by the millions – a DHSC case study'
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) were faced with the challenge of keeping control of critical records during a decommissioning project, moving 50 million documents from a well-structured records management system all whilst ensuring information continued to flow.
This session will explore how using an extract, transform, load (ETL) process DHSC successfully navigated the decommissioning of LotusNotes and reduced dependency on customised applications, securely moving documents into the cloud and assuring long-term preservation of vital records to meet compliance with FOI Requests and Public Record Acts for long-term retention and data transfer.
