Managing Physical, Digitized and Digitally-born Assets - Sharing Best Practices on Linking Assets and Systems across the Business

Valerie Komor, Director of Corporate Archives for the Associated Press, will discuss how AP is meeting the challenges of collecting and preserving their physical and tangible assets as well as their unique born-digital and digitized assets. She will describe the collaborative approach taken with business partners to digitize significant historical collections thereby expanding access to internal and external stakeholders. Valerie will share highlights of how historical resources and research are leveraged to create documentaries, initially shown to the Board of Directors at quarterly meetings, and how the AP’s growing digital preservation capabilities help ensure both the raw materials and finished creative assets remain viable far into the future.
