Boston, MA; London, UK. May 9, 2019. Preservica, market leaders in active digital preservation has announced that the Absolut Company has selected its cloud hosted active digital preservation platform to protect and future-proof more than 140 years of unique brand heritage and company history.

The Absolut Company has more than 100,000 items in its archive including company history and records as well as brand heritage, posters, advertising, and product images.
Lovisa Kragerud, corporate archivist & chief storyteller for the Absolut Company commented: “When I joined the company it became clear that our unique history and brand heritage was spread across different locations, systems and types of media. This put our digital assets at risk of being lost or becoming obsolete and made them difficult to find quickly to be used by the archive and other teams across the business.
“Our marketing team use a traditional DAM system for our current campaigns and assets, however, we realized that we needed a digital preservation platform to create a company-wide resource that would ensure our unique heritage assets could be found and reused over decades.”
Preservica was seen as incredibly user-friendly and ready to work ‘out of the box’. Particularly appealing was Preservica’s discovery and search capabilities – this is a critical requirement for enabling teams across the business to quickly find, view and retrieve authentic heritage assets.

Lovisa continues “I’m already seeing a lot of excitement in our marketing team around the benefits we’re anticipating. Not only will people be able to quickly and easily access and reuse materials from the past to inspire new campaigns but also by accessing suggestions, metrics and presentations it will remind us what success for our brand looks like as well as what doesn’t work for us.
“We also plan to use Preservica’s built-in secure access portal to enable employees all over the world to discover and download authentic heritage assets. Our aim is to create a central resource of lasting value to the company.”
Mike Quinn, CEO of Preservica, added: “We are delighted that the Absolut Company has chosen Preservica to safeguard its amazing brand heritage and history. They join a growing community of major global brands using Preservica to future-proof unique digital assets and create lasting value for the business. We look forward to supporting the team at The Absolut Company as they leverage their digital heritage to innovate new campaigns, brands and products.”
