Recording: Best Practices: Digital Preservation for Independent Schools
The digital age has created new opportunities for independent schools to interact with their community AND celebrate and preserve their historical legacy. Launching a digital collections program with digitized or born-digital archival resources such as year books, student newspapers, photos, videos of alumni events, and more – can be accomplished with a simple and affordable digital preservation tool.

Guest speakers for this event:
Georgina Robinson - Archivist, Eton College
Georgina Robinson is an archivist at Eton College Archives; she is responsible for records management, digital preservation and the photographic archive. Georgina is currently working to establish a systematic transfer of analogue and born-digital records to the archives and to facilitate their long-term preservation.
Chrissie Perella - Archivist, Westtown School
Chrissie Perella is the Archivist at Westtown School and was previously the Archivist at The College of Physicians of Philadelphia for over 6 years. She has an MSLIS with a concentration in archival studies from Drexel University and earned the Digital Archives Specialist from SAA in 2019. Chrissie manages all phases of archives operations, and is currently focused on working with Westtown's born-digital records stored in a variety of legacy systems, including photographs, WordPerfect files, and Google Drive documents.
Peter Steinberg - Archivist, The Lawrenceville School
A Simmons College graduate, Peter K. Steinberg is an Archivist at the Lawrenceville School responsible primarily for digitization initiatives. His previous experiences include working at the Houghton Library and Woodberry Poetry Room at Harvard University and on Digital Projects at the Massachusetts Historical Society.
