ARA Conference 2024
August 28th 2024 - August 30th 2024
12:00 PM GMT+1
ARA’s 2024 conference will take place in the new BCEC, a purpose built conference venue in the centre of Birmingham.
The 2024 theme is ‘Climate and Crisis: Tackling It Together’ and over three days will address the major crises and challenges facing our communities and our profession, learning from our community and building stronger responses, together.
Gareth Aitken of Preservica will be presenting a case study on streamlining the process of acquiring records & archival content from Microsoft 365.
The session will explore case studies of how Archives and Records teams are coming together to streamline and automate the governance of long-term and permanent digital content. It will look at how migration, digital preservation and discoverability of content from Microsoft 365 can be simplified to ensure it can always be found, surfaced and read by knowledge workers using existing and familiar tools.
In this session we will explore how organisations are able to:
- Securely acquire records & archival content from Microsoft 365
- Eliminate the manual export & upload of permanent records to the archive
- Reduce carbon footprint through decommissioning of legacy applications and easy transfer & preservation of content
- Easily retrieve preserved content using Microsoft discovery tools
- Ensure records and content are always accessible in the latest file formats
